Building Tomorrow’s Communities: DASCO’s Local Impact

At DASCO, we believe that building strong communities starts with investing locally.

Our recent recognition as finalists in the Builders of Tomorrow category underscores our commitment to not only constructing buildings but also maintaining and enriching the environments that define our communities. This award celebrates the visionary contributions of family-owned businesses like ours, who are shaping the landscape of the region by designing, constructing, and nurturing the spaces where we live and work.

One of the core principles guiding our approach is the importance of spending locally. It has a profound impact on the businesspeople we support.

Supporting Local

We recently sponsored a local business expo in Wigan, designed to keep spending within our community and foster new connections. As a family-owned business ourselves, we understand the significance of supporting other local enterprises. Businesses like ours touch many lives; we employ 96 local people, so we get it, and it’s a responsibility we take seriously.

Our commitment to supporting local businesses extends beyond sponsoring events; it’s ingrained in our ethos. We proudly invest 90% of our operational costs back into our hometown of Wigan, reinforcing our deep-rooted connection to the community.

By spending locally and collaborating with fellow businesses, we contribute to the economic vitality of our town. Additionally, fostering long-lasting relationships helps build a stronger, more resilient community.

Our impact extends beyond economic support; we actively make a difference in the lives of those around us.

Community Impact

One of our proudest contributions is the renovation of a local chapel within Hindley Cemetery. Responding to a call for help from the Friends of Hindley Cemetery, we pledged support by offering both labour and materials.

Our involvement extended beyond donations. Family members actively participated in planning applications, building leases, and crafting a business plan. This project holds personal significance for us, as Hindley Cemetery is the resting place of our mother.

We dedicate ourselves to supporting local businesses and engaging in community projects. Through measuring our social impact, we commit to building tomorrow’s communities, one brick at a time.
