DASCO Construction is the proud sponsor of the People’s Choice Award at the Wigan Business Awards. This sponsorship marks the event’s return after a four-year absence.

DASCO’s journey with the Wigan Business Awards began in 2018, when we received the ‘Highly Commended” recognition.

Inspired by this accolade, we entered again in 2019 with the determination to bring home the trophy – and we did just that.

“We won!” said business owner Scott Rothwell. “Winning the Family Business of the Year award at the Wigan Business Awards in 2019 was a massive achievement for us”

It became such a significant milestone because it celebrated the unique contribution family businesses have made to Wigan’s economy. These businesses also enrich Wigan’s history and culture.

As a family-owned business with 100 local employees, DASCO Construction is deeply embedded in the Wigan community.

Charlotte Rothwell added, “Winning our award felt like all the hard work over the previous five years had paid off. It strengthened our credibility and is something we, as a family team, are still very proud of.”

Nichola Howard, the organiser of the Wigan Business Awards extended her thanks to the team at DASCO and stated

“As an independent platform and a family business ourselves, it’s important we get the right sponsors behind us as we continue to shine a light on local businesses and celebrate the resilience and innovation that define our community.”

“As we look forward to the awards, we are excited to share we have the support of DASCO Construction”

Supporting Local Businesses

Scott added

“Over 90% of our operation costs are invested right here in Wigan, the town where we were born and raised, we know how important it is to give back to our community.

“Supporting other local businesses means building long-lasting relationships, it works both ways and that’s what stands the test of time.”

Recognition by an impartial panel of judges or by popular vote in the People’s Choice Award adds a layer of legitimacy to your business.

This goes some way towards reassuring existing customers and attracting new ones who are looking for reliable and reputable companies to engage with.

Imagine being able to describe your business as ‘Award Winning’

Join us in celebrating and recognising the businesses that make Wigan and Leigh and everywhere in between, thrive.

Happy 16th Birthday, Roxy!

Not every member of the DASCO team wears a hard hat.  Some prefer a blanket, a comfy bed and the occasional treat.  This week, we celebrated a very special birthday as our beloved office dog, Roxy, turned 16.  Roxy has been coming to work with us for almost nine years and has become a familiar face around the office. While

Inspiring the Next Generation of Skilled Tradespeople

The construction industry has a major problem: a lack of skilled tradespeople.  Ask almost any contractor and they’ll tell you the same thing. There is plenty of work available, but finding skilled people to deliver it is becoming increasingly difficult.  At DASCO, we believe part of the solution starts in schools.  Recently, Managing Director Scott Rothwell visited students at St Mary’s RC
