We’re especially proud to have surpassed strong competition. A record number of family businesses entered the awards this year from across the Northwest region

Scott Rothwell, our Managing Director, expressed his gratitude, saying,

“To reach the final of such a prestigious award is a testament to our team and all the people that have helped us along the way. The timing is perfect as this year we celebrate our ten-year anniversary, so we couldn’t be happier.”

Co-Founder and Director of NWFBA, Sue Howorth, highlighted the exceptional quality of this year’s entries. With judges facing tough decisions amidst increased competition. “Our finalists should be extremely proud of themselves for being recognized in this year’s shortlist,” she remarked.

Judging Process and Finalists’ Response

The judging process, hosted by Siemens UK, showcased the outstanding calibre of family businesses in the region. Sue Baguley from Siemens UK noted, “The number and quality of applications from across the North West region has been outstanding. The businesses are clearly proud to be family businesses, and the detail in many of the entries has demonstrated that they are very progressive and innovative.”

Another judge, Tom Mathew, Group Commercial Director of Dunsters Farm, shared his admiration for the resilient and ambitious spirit of family-run businesses. “The judging day is an opportunity for me to contribute to the vibrant family business community but also to go away inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated by the applicants,” he said.

Looking Forward: Awards Ceremony and Future Commitment

As a finalist in North West Family Business Awards, we eagerly anticipate the visit from our panel of judges. With their final decision revealed at a vibrant and entertaining awards celebration on Friday, May 10th.

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to the North West Family Business Awards for this recognition. We look forward to continuing our commitment to excellence in construction and serving our community for years to come.

There is plenty of work available, but finding skilled people to deliver it is becoming increasingly difficult.  At DASCO, we believe part of the solution starts in schools.  Recently, Managing Director Scott Rothwell visited students at St Mary’s RC
