DASCO Construction Retains ‘Business of the Year’ at Wigan Business Awards 2025

We are incredibly proud to share that we have once again been crowned Business of the Year at the Wigan Business Awards. This marks the second consecutive year we have received this honour. A moment that means so much to our entire team.

This award recognises our exceptional growth and our values led leadership. It also reflects our continued commitment to people, quality, and positive community impact.

Founded in 2014 by the Rothwell family, we began with a single van and a family vision. We have since grown into a multi million pound construction business employing more than 166 staff. We are especially proud that 84 percent of our team comes from the Wigan borough.

This latest achievement reaffirms our position as one of the region’s most respected and socially responsible employers.

On the night we also took home the Highly Commended award in the Employer of the Year category.

Speaking after the win, Managing Director Scott Rothwell said:

“Winning Business of the Year once was an incredible moment but winning it again proves that what we are building is strong and deeply rooted in the values we care about. Retaining this title is proof that you can run a business with integrity, heart, and ambition, and still be the best.”

Our multi award winning Accounts Manager, Charlotte Rothwell, continues to fly the flag for women in construction. Her individual success reflects our strong people first culture. This culture has become a hallmark of who we are.

Jo Leigh, Creative Director of Launch NW, organisers of the Wigan Business Awards, said:

“Over the past year, DASCO have embraced huge changes, tackling new compliance commitments without a backwards glance.

Their tenacity, integrity, and pride in doing things the right way set them apart and as one judge put it after their interview, ‘Well, they are going to take some beating!’”

Happy 16th Birthday, Roxy!

Not every member of the DASCO team wears a hard hat.  Some prefer a blanket, a comfy bed and the occasional treat.  This week, we celebrated a very special birthday as our beloved office dog, Roxy, turned 16.  Roxy has been coming to work with us for almost nine years and has become a familiar face around the office. While

Inspiring the Next Generation of Skilled Tradespeople

The construction industry has a major problem: a lack of skilled tradespeople.  Ask almost any contractor and they’ll tell you the same thing. There is plenty of work available, but finding skilled people to deliver it is becoming increasingly difficult.  At DASCO, we believe part of the solution starts in schools.  Recently, Managing Director Scott Rothwell visited students at St Mary’s RC
