Backing Local Talent: Finn Munro’s Championship Season

When DASCO agreed to sponsor local BMX rider Finn Munro, we knew we were backing a talented young rider with plenty of ambition.

What followed has been quite a season.

At just 12 years old, Wigan rider Finn travelled to Sarrians in France to compete at the 2026 UEC BMX European Championships and Challenge, taking on some of the best young BMX riders from across Europe.

Finn came through a field of more than 120 riders to take first place in the Boys 12 final and become European Champion.

And he wasn’t finished there.

From European Champion to double British Champion

Back on home soil, Finn continued an incredible run of results at the 2026 British BMX Championships at Platt Fields in Manchester.

He became British Champion in the Male 12 category, before adding another title in the 9–12 Cruiser category.

Two British titles on top of a European Championship would be quite enough for most seasons, but Finn also finished at the top of the 2026 British Cycling BMX National Series standings for his age group.

It has been a brilliant year for a young rider who continues to put in the work both on and off the track.

Supporting young people with big ambitions

DASCO’s social value commitments extend beyond the projects we deliver.

As a Wigan business, we believe there is real value in supporting the people, organisations and young talent coming through our local communities.

Sport at this level takes commitment from the whole family. There is training, travel, equipment and countless weekends spent travelling to competitions around the country and further afield.

Sponsorship can help make some of that possible.

We’re proud to play a small part in Finn’s journey and even prouder to see a local young rider representing Wigan and achieving at European and national level.

Congratulations, Finn.

We think we’ll be hearing plenty more from him.

There is plenty of work available, but finding skilled people to deliver it is becoming increasingly difficult.  At DASCO, we believe part of the solution starts in schools.  Recently, Managing Director Scott Rothwell visited students at St Mary’s RC
